STAFF
Special Thanks
The Staff at Deaths Omen Mud would like to thank all those who have spent countless hours shaping the world of Armageddon. This MUD is to hope to build on that legacy, and not let Armageddon be forgotten.
Wade Gustafson for granting permission to use his world of Morra, and to Luke Cunningham for creating the Futuremud Engine. Another thankyou goes to all those who contributed to the original Forever's End Mud.
Name: Evilonester
Rank: Management Administrator
About Me:
Embarking upon my journey as a role player, I first delved into the enchanting realm of Forever's End at the tender age of sixteen, under the guidance of the venerable Caladan, known on Armageddon Mud as Tleilax. Enamored by the allure of Dungeons & Dragons, I immersed myself ceaselessly in the intricacies of the game until its eventual closure, only to witness its phoenix-like resurgence as Forever's End 2. Alas, despite my fervent dedication, the game met an untimely demise, prompting a venture into other realms such as Harshlands, Shadows of Isildur, and Armageddon, where my passion for immersive role-playing thrived.
Following a hiatus, my return in 2012 saw me once again ensnared by the captivating world of Armageddon, rekindling the flames of my enduring ardor for RPI muds. Now, at the age of forty, I stand with a wealth of experiences, eager to channel my passion into the creation of a remarkable haven for fellow enthusiasts—a sanctuary where immersive role-playing converges with enjoyment, crafting an enduring legacy for those seeking the thrill of storytelling and camaraderie.
Structure
“MA” is defined as Management Administrator. Those staff members who manage the operations, policy, projects and world-scale events of Forever's End Mud. They oversee the general mechanics as well as assist with Role-Play Administration. The MA also keeps a constant lookout for the overall welfare of the game. They reserve the right to intercede upon IC events if they feel that those IC events will cause a detrimental affect to the overall welfare of the game. No MA holds authority over another MA, with the exception of Evilonester who has final authority on all matters. Any decisions to remove and hire a new MA must be agreed upon by all other active MA.
"RPA" is defined as Role-Play Administrator. These staff members oversee the day-to-day flow of the game world. Their duties include, but are not limited to: reviewing character applications, answering petitions, responding to email, expansion and building, researching and writing crafts, writing documentation, running NPC animations, addressing issue reports, and moving large-scale plots. In addition, each RPA has a list of clans that they supervise. They help run plots for these clans, as well as to assist the PC leaders in matters that they cannot handle themselves. While each RPA is allowed to conduct general role-play with members outside of the clans they supervise, they are not allowed to initiate plot-specific role-play with members in other clans that they do not supervise. Should they wish to initiate plot-specific role-play with outside clans they should consult and gain permission from the RPA who supervises that clan. All RPA are expected to log in daily if possible to keep up to date. Any RPA that shows a history of inactive status will loose the RPA level and privileges, and a new RPA will be found to take their place. Any decision to remove an RPA is at the discretion of the MA's. Any decision to hire a new RPA must be agreed upon by the staff.
"JRPA" is defined as a Junior Role-Play Administrator. Much of the same as a RPA, but does not get a SPC, and is not assigned to any particular clans until a trial period is completed.
“The Staff” are defined as all the Administrators on the server.
“Clan” is defined as any group, organization or business.
“PCL” is defined as Player Character Leader. Those PCs who have been given the task of managing a clan, be it PC, NPC, VNPC or any combination of the above. A PCL will work closely with their supervising RPA. A PCL is in a position of trust and responsibility, and to play one should be considered a privilege. The events revolving around PCs will often be dependant on various PCLs. Because of this, if a PCL is found to not be handling the responsibility of their position, and/or found to be breaking the trust granted them, the MA reserves the right to replace them with someone that they feel can handle the responsibility and/or not break the trust. If a PCL fails to log on for 7 days or more, the MA reserves the right to step in and handle any situations left pending by that PCLs absence. If this requires decisions being made in the PCLs name, they will have to accept those decisions as their own when they return to active play. The Staff most definitely would prefer that such situations not happen. The Staff would prefer to leave the game in the hands of the players, as it was meant to be. However, they will take steps to prevent one players suffering due to the lack of another players absence. If a PCL fails to log on for 14 days or more, without prior notice to the Staff, the Staff reserves the right to replace the PCL in their position.
“PC” is defined as Player Character. Solely their players control their actions.
“NPC” is defined as Non-Player Character. Solely members of the administration control their actions.
“VNPC” is defined as Virtual Non-Player Character. There are thousands of people living on FEM that are not represented by PCs or NPCs, simply because the mud would become chaos if they all were. Just because you do not see a PC or NPC in the area you are in, does not mean you are alone. Just because you have not seen any other PCs walk through the Starburst Inn in the last hour does not mean that it is quiet or slow. The people are there, they just do not have a coded representative.
“SPC” is defined as Staff Player Character. The purpose of a SPC can vary, and is better defined below. A SPC will only be allowed after it has been approved by all members of the MA.
“IC” is defined as In-Character. Those matters that take place in game.
“OOC” is defined as Out-Of-Character. Any matter that takes place with a player breaking from their character.
"SPCs"
MAs are permitted to maintain up to three SPCs. A Management SPC can be one of two things. First, as a character to assist in wide-scale role-playing. These characters would be in place to help guide plots along. They might be in positions of great power and control over other PCs, or might be in positions of no power at all, simply there just to provide crucial plot information. Most of the time they will be characters to fill in areas that lack PCLs. This includes positions secondary to the PCLs that have the authority to speak for the PCLs should their players be required to spend time away from the mud. These leadership SPCs would then step back to the background when the PCL returned to active duty and/or when another PCL was moved into that position. The reason for this is that the way this game has been designed is that PCLs are often a controlling factor over the lives of the PCs. Many times the development of a PC can depend on a PCL being active, available so that this development can continue for better or worse. A leadership SPC will only come forward in times that a PCs development is halted due to an inactive PCL. Any MA found to be using a SPC for their own interests over the interests of the mud will forever loose the right to play another SPC.
RPAs are permitted to maintain up too one SPCs. A RPA SPC is to be a character to assist in wide-scale role-playing, or to give the RPA a small step back from the administrative role, and enjoy some time as a player. These SPCs are to primarily be used to assist in the development of the clans said RPA supervises. They would not be in place to have control over PCs, and will not be allowed to hold positions of leadership or authority. Any RPA found to be using a SPC for their own interests over the interests of the mud will forever loose the right to play another SPC.
